The Miami Dolphins are cleaning house.

Miami made several moves on Monday ahead of the true start to the NFL offseason, including releasing veteran wide receiver Tyreek Hill. The wideout is working back from a dislocated knee he suffered during the 2025 season, and said recently that he is “feeling good” about his rehab. Hill was one of four players the Dolphins released on Monday, including pass rusher Bradley Chubb, guard James Daniels, and wideout Nick Westbrook-Ikhine. The four cuts together clear over $56 million in 2026 cap space for the Dolphins as new head coach Jeff Hafley and general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan take over in Miami.

While the injury could cost the 31-year-old WR the majority of his offseason, and cut into the next regular season, there are teams that would be smart to inquire about his availability.

Here are five such teams.

Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders are expected to draft quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the first-overall selection in the 2026 NFL Draft.

They will need to get him some help.

There are pieces in place around the quarterback position in Las Vegas. Tight end Brock Bowers is already among the game’s best, and Ashton Jeanty showed potential as a rookie in 2025. But this offense needs more playmakers to help the — expected — rookie quarterback and Hill would certainly help.

Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans are one of several teams hoping to do what the New England Patriots did a year ago, and make a surprising “worst-to-first” run in 2026.

There are pieces in place in Nashville for the Titans to do just that, following the Patriots’ recipe. A rising second-year quarterback in Cam Ward who showed potential as a rookie. A new, defensive-minded head coach in Robert Saleh (similar to Mike Vrabel) is in place. And Tennessee, just like New England, has a ton of cap space heading into the offseason.

One of the moves that New England made around Drake Maye? Adding a veteran wide receiver in Stefon Diggs for him to target in the passing game. Would Tennessee do something similar for Ward and sign Hill?

Los Angeles Chargers

Wide receiver is not a pressing need for the Los Angeles Chargers.

However, there are a few reasons why this pairing makes sense.

One is the impending free agency of Keenan Allen. Allen returned to Los Angeles and enjoyed a productive 2025 season, catching 81 catches for 777 yards and four touchdowns while becoming the franchise’s all-time leading receiver when he caught pass No. 956, moving ahead of Antonio Gates.

At 34, Allen might not have a huge market in free agency, and a return to Los Angeles seems likely, but adding another veteran receiver in Hill would give this room more depth.

Then there is the Mike McDaniel factor. The Chargers’ new offensive coordinator was Hill’s head coach for the bulk of his Miami tenure, and McDaniel certainly knows how to use Hill — both as a target in the passing game as well as a decoy to create space for other options.

Again, WR is not a pressing need for the Chargers, but if Los Angeles wants to take the next step, he would be a huge boost.

Buffalo Bills

In contrast to the Chargers, WR is certainly a need for the Buffalo Bills.

A spin through NFL Mock Draft Database illustrates this point, as Denzel Boston and Kevin Concepcion are the two most-popular picks for the Bills at this point in the NFL offseason. While mock drafts are just one datapoint (and an imperfect one at that) those mocks highlight how the NFL media space views Buffalo’s WR room.

Hill may not be the player he once was, particularly after this injury, but if he is even half as explosive as he was during his prime, that would give Josh Allen a receiver not even he could overthrow in the vertical passing game.

Kansas City Chiefs

Could Hill go home again?

The speedy wide receiver began his career in Kansas City, and a reunion with Patrick Mahomes could do both players a world of good. Hill recorded four 1,000-plus-yard seasons while in Kansas City, and helped the Chiefs to a win in Super Bowl LIV over the San Francisco 49ers.

Getting Mahomes back healthy early in the year, and adding Hill for the stretch run, could help Kansas City bounce back after a disappointing 2025.
