The 6-foot-7 flamethrower’s next turn in the rotation was scheduled to come up Sunday against the Rockies at home, but the Brewers have announced Brandon Sproat as their probable starter for that game. Thanks to Thursday’s off-day, Sproat will be pitching on four days’ rest following his start Tuesday against the Mets.
Misiorowski, who was scratched from his final scheduled start of the first half due to arm fatigue and didn’t pitch in the All-Star Game, tossed four strong innings on 65 pitches in a deliberately shortened start in the Crew’s 8-3 victory over the Mets on Monday.
It’s all part of the Brewers’ plan to keep Misiorowski healthy and ensure he’s at full strength come October. He’s up to 115 innings this season, putting him 26 1/3 innings shy of the career-high 141 1/3 frames he threw between the Majors (postseason included) and Minors in 2025.
After hosting the Mets and Rockies this week, the Brewers will go on the road to play a three-game series against the Giants starting Monday. The club has yet to announce its probable pitchers for that series.
The Brewers are planning to follow Sproat’s start on Tuesday with Logan Henderson on Wednesday, Shane Drohan on Friday and Robert Gasser on Saturday before Sproat goes again on Sunday.
