Paul Mullin has signed for Rotherham United after seeing his Wrexham deal terminated.
The striker became a cult hero for the Welsh club, helping them win promotion from the National League and League Two in back-to-back years.
He even found a role in Deadpool with Ryan Reynolds as ‘Welshpool’, and the striker gained a large number of fans.
However, his contract was mutually terminated in June, and the Championship side elected not to keep him around.
Still, his record for Wrexham was very good, scoring over 100 goals in just over 160 appearances.
And now he’s back in League Two to try and help the Millers. Mullin has signed a two-year deal with south Yorkshire-based side.
Speaking to the club’s website, he said: “It’s been a long summer for me. Just, obviously, after the last couple of years, it was just about taking my time and making sure something was right for me, my family to the next part of the chapter of my career and Rotherham was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.
“I spoke to the manager beforehand, who obviously highlighted the plans he has for the club and that the people above him have for the club going forward, and although it hasn’t been a great time the last couple of years, we’ve all seen what can happen at this place once it takes off and, hopefully, this year we can get back going that way.”

Mullin spent five years with Wrexham and became one of their most important players of recent times.
He still had one year left on his deal, but it was agreed by mutual consent to terminate it.
And it was an emotional goodbye for the striker, who said: “From the bottom of my heart, thank you very much to all the fans, near and far. What we create together is something I’ll always be proud of.
“This club is special and has been to me and my family from the very start. I want nothing more than to see this club continue to progress – for all those people who came together to keep it alive and for Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac who are a special pair of people.

“This might be the end for me as a player, but there’s not a chance it’s the end of my love and affection for the club.”
Manager Phil Parkinson also paid tribute, saying: “This settlement enables him to take his time and find the right club for him, going forward.
“It can’t be underestimated the role Mulls (Mulliin) has played in the story of Wrexham Football Club over the last five years, with so many memorable goals and moments. He’ll be a player always remembered and revered by our supporters.”

Rotherham are hoping that Mullin’s excellent League Two record can continue.
In 274 appearances in that division, he has 93 goals and 26 assists.
At the fourth tier of English football, he is a proven goalscorer.
