The Phoenix Mercury erased a 13-point deficit and completed a come-from-behind win over the Golden State Valkyries, 91-89, at Mortgage Matchup Center on Wednesday.
The Mercury notched their third straight victory and improved to 11-18. The Valkyries, meanwhile, dropped to 19-9.
Alyssa Thomas had a huge game with 25 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists. She shot 10-of-14 from the field. According to StatMuse, Thomas became the first player in league history to tally such numbers on 70% field goals in multiple games.

She was coming off a triple-double performance of 19 points, 11 rebounds, and 15 assists in their impressive win over the Los Angeles Sparks before the midseason break. The four-time All-WNBA member is averaging 14.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, 8.3 assists, and 1.4 steals.
Thomas probably has a chip on her shoulder after being snubbed in the All-Star Game.
Kahleah Cooper had a game-high 27 points on top of four rebounds and four assists against the Valkyries.
Earlier this month, the 34-year-old Thomas stressed that she is focused on helping the Mercury make a late surge to qualify for the playoffs despite the heavy criticism she has faced following her physical incident with Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever.
“I’m definitely not used to being at the bottom. I’m accustomed to a different standard,” said the six-time All-Star in a report from Yahoo! Sports’ Holland Kaplan.
“There’s still a lot of basketball to play, and we’ve still got to make this kind of push.”
Thomas is still chasing her first championship.
The Mercury will look to extend their winning streak against the New York Liberty on Saturday.
