The Los Angeles Dodgers once again found a way to get an elite-level talent, as they traded for Tarik Skubal, making their pitching rotation one of the best in MLB. There were several other teams that were thought to have maybe swooped up Skubal, but the Dodgers always come in at the last moment and make a deal.
Just like those teams interested were probably surprised that the Dodgers got him, but fans around the league were even more shocked. One of those fans happened to be Joel Embiid, who had the same reaction as everybody else when the trade was announced.
“OMG!! OMG!!!,” Embiid wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
There couldn’t have been many people who knew Embiid was a Dodgers fan, but he was asked after his reaction who his second favorite team was after the Philadelphia Phillies.
“3 peat baby,” Embiid wrote.
He didn’t even have to say the same team’s name for everyone to know who he was talking about. Embiid then finished off his reaction to the trade with this tweet.
“I have a GOOD feeling about October…. The playoffs are gonna be FUN!!!!,” Embiid wrote.
He’s not the only person who thinks the same, as the playoffs should be interesting in the coming months. It would not be a surprise if the Dodgers found themselves back in the World Series in an attempt to win their third straight title, but there will be some teams not willing to make it easy for them.
There is still time for other teams to improve their roster, and they’re hoping they can find a way to match up with the Dodgers.
