Rishabh Pant has caught the attention of social media users after making a personal request to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami. The India wicketkeeper-batter, who is currently in Sri Lanka, took to X in the early hours of Saturday and asked the chief minister for help in finding suitable land to purchase in Uttarakhand.
Pant revealed that he has been trying to find a suitable property for the last three years as he looks to shift his base from Delhi to his native state. He also explained that he wants to reconnect with his roots and contribute to the development of Uttarakhand.
Rishabh Pant’s post to Pushkar Dhami goes viral
In his post, Pant directly tagged Dhami and explained his difficulties in purchasing land in Uttarakhand. The cricketer said he had been unable to find a property that was large enough and suitable for building his home. He went on to explain that he had been trying to purchase land for three years but had struggled to find a clear and suitable option. Pant also said that he wanted to move back to his “Pahadi people” and contribute to his home state.
“Hello sir how’s you ??? It’s a long time for me especially being local from Uttrakhand. A gift would be lovely for representing our state at the highest level internationally but if you allow me I wanna buy it from Government and on their rates,” Pant wrote,” Pant wrote.
The 28-year-old made it clear that he was not asking the government to gift him land. Instead, Pant said he wanted permission to purchase a property from the government at the applicable rates. The post quickly went viral, with social media users reacting to Pant’s unusual request. Some users expressed support for the cricketer, while others were surprised by the nature of the post and questioned whether his account had been compromised.

Pushkar Dhami assures Pant of government help
Dhami responded to Pant’s request later in the morning and assured him that the matter would be looked into. The Uttarakhand chief minister called Pant the “pride of Uttarakhand” and praised his achievements, saying that the cricketer had brought recognition to the state through his performances.
Dhami also appreciated Pant’s desire to return to his motherland and contribute to its development. He said that instructions had been issued to the concerned officials, who would contact Pant and provide all possible assistance in accordance with the rules.
The response came shortly after Pant’s social media post, with the exchange drawing further attention online. Pant’s request was specifically focused on purchasing land in Uttarakhand so that he can build his own home and eventually shift his base from Delhi to his native state.
