Cristiano Ronaldo has officially tied the knot with long-time partner Georgina Rodríguez.
The Portuguese superstar got married to model Rodríguez in a civil ceremony on Tuesday.
The ceremony took place in Cascais, Portugal a year to the day since the pair, who share two children together, announced their engagement on Instagram in 2025.
“Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez were married today in a civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, and are now officially husband and wife,” a representative for the Al Nassr star said.
“The ceremony was a private and intimate moment attended by their five children.”
Ronaldo took to Instagram once again to announce that the two had officially wed, posting a picture of the couple holding hands with their wedding bands with the caption: “C❤️G.”
The wedding took place just days after it was believed that they would be tying the knot in Funchal Cathedral – Ronaldo‘s hometown – leading to thousands of fans gathering outside of the church.
How did Ronaldo and Rodríguez meet?
The two met back in 2016 when Argentine-Spanish Rodríguez was working at a Gucci store in Madrid.
In her Netflix documentary entitled ‘Soy Georgina’ (I am Georgina), the 42-year-old revealed that their meeting came by chance as she was supposed to leave work earlier that day, only to be asked to assist a special VIP client – Ronaldo, then playing for La Liga giants Real Madrid.
“I was finally able to leave the shop to go home three hours later than I should have and as I was getting ready to leave Cristiano came in with his eldest son and some friends,” she shared in the documentary,” she said.
“Let’s just say it was butterflies in my stomach.”
After that meeting, the two have been virtually inseparable, with Ronaldo often picking her up from work in his Bugatti after she had arrived via bus.
“He would come, I remember once, once in a Bugatti. My co-workers went crazy. They get there on the bus, and I would leave in a Bugatti. I mean people couldn’t believe it,” she added.
It wasn’t long before she had to quit her job at the store because of crowding.
But their relationship remained strong with Rodriguez taking on the role of parenting the three children Ronaldo had (Cristiano Jr, Eva Maria and Mateo) before meeting her.
Ronaldo and and Rodriguez share two children together, daughters Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda.
Ronaldo must now feel that ‘click’
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner also revealed during the documentary that he hadn’t yet put a ring on Rodríguez’s finger because he hadn’t felt the special ‘click’.
‘I always tell her, ‘when we get that click’. Like everything with our life, and she knows what I’m talking about,” Ronaldo said.
‘It could be in a year or it could be in six months or it could be in a month. I’m 1000 per cent sure that it’ll happen.’
At the same time, Rodríguez admitted that her friends would always joke with her about when the wedding was.
“They’re always joking about the wedding. ‘When is the wedding?'” Rodríguez said.
“Since Jennifer Lopez’s song The Ring or When came out, they started singing it to me. And well, this is not up to me.”
Now it’s finally happened.
