The Dodgers watched Blake Snell recapture his immediate form on Tuesday night, leading to this former MLB star making this claim.
The Los Angeles Dodgers received a glimpse of the old Blake Snell Tuesday night. Snell fired off 10 strikeouts while allowing one earned run during the Dodgers’ 5-4 win over the Kansas City Royals. And Snell’s performance reignited an “embarrassment of riches” claim from one MLB analyst.
Former Dodgers outfielder and now analyst for MLB Foul Territory Kevin Pillar reacted to Snell’s outing Wednesday. Including referring to him as “Snell-zilla.”
“The Dodgers do everything right. They love winning and are obsesses with winning,” Pillar began. “Snell was ran to the ground in that postseason stretch in that World Series. But getting him back at this point in the season healthy is just an embarrassment of riches.”

Pillar adds the importance on the Dodgers’ side to bring back Snell healthy. During what Dodger fans often consider the time when they’re season really begins: The postseason push.
“Good on the Dodgers for spending money and getting guys like Blake Snell,” Pillar said. “I had the fortune of facing him a ton of my career. They year he won his first Cy Young in Tampa, he was the best pitcher I faced.”
Snell returns from his MLB Injury during another crucial time too: Following LA’s torrid seven-game losing streak. Los Angeles has now won three of its last four games including win two contests against the Royals by one run.
The lefty unleashed his fast ball in four of his first six pitches. He fanned Kansas City’s first three batters to set the tone for the Tuesday victory.
