Blues’ Jordan Kyrou leaves game against Senators with injury
A top St. Louis Blues forward has hit the infirmary.
Jordan Kyrou exited Saturday’s game against the Ottawa Senators with a lower-body injury and will not return, the team announced.
Kyrou was checked awkwardly into the boards by Senators forward Stephen Halliday in the opening minutes of the first period and needed help to leave the ice, heading straight down the tunnel.
The 27-year-old Toronto native has eight goals and eight assists in 27 games this season. He scored at least 30 goals in each of the last three seasons.
St. Louis doesn’t have much of a break after its tilt with Ottawa, as it returns to the ice Sunday to face the Montreal Canadiens before returning home to host the Boston Bruins on Tuesday.
The Blues (9-12-7) sit 13th in the West with 25 points in 28 games.
