Chargers QB Justin Herbert has break in non-throwing hand, to have surgery
Hold your breath Los Angeles Chargers fans.
Quarterback Justin Herbert has a break in his left hand and is set to undergo surgery on Monday, head coach Jim Harbaugh announced Sunday after the team’s 31-14 win over the Las Vegas Raiders
Herbert suffered the injury on the Chargers’ first drive of the game and briefly went to the locker room before returning with a glove on his left hand.
Trey Lance began the Chargers’ second drive, but was quickly replaced once Herbert returned.
After finishing with a career-low 81 passing yards the week prior against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Herbert finished the game completing 15 of 20 passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns on Sunday.
The Oregon native told reporters that despite needing a procedure on his fractured left hand, he is treating next Monday night’s game against the Eagles as if he is playing.
