Chris Olave injury: What status means for Week 14 vs. Buccaneers

The 2-10 New Orleans Saints travel to Tampa Bay to take on the 7-5 Buccaneers as 8.5-point underdogs on Sunday. They won’t have starting running back Alvin Kamara, while WR1 Chris Olave is questionable with a back injury. Olave had trouble with back spasms ahead of last week’s game, but was able to play through the injury. He is officially questionable this week.

Olave wasn’t able to practice on Wednesday, but returned to get a limited practice in on Thursday and Friday. Since he couldn’t get a full practice in, he was listed as questionable. The good news for those rostering him in fantasy is that Saints beat writer Nick Underhill reports that Olave will play despite the injury.

Fantasy football analysis

Olave’s injury apparently flared up after the game last week, so we can’t be sure that he’ll play a full game against the Buccaneers, but that appears to be the plan. Olave played well last week, even with the injury, as he caught 4-of-7 targets for 47 yards and a touchdown. It was his lowest yardage since Week 4 and his second lowest of the season, but as long as he’s out there, especially in a good matchup like this, you have to start him.
