Flames recall defenceman Hunter Brzustewicz from AHL
The Calgary Flames are calling up a young reinforcement on the blue line.
Hunter Brzustewicz was recalled from the Calgary Wranglers, the Flames’ AHL affiliate, the team announced on Monday.
Brzustewicz, 21, has four goals and 12 points in 23 games with the Wranglers this season.
He managed five goals and 32 points through 70 AHL games last season, his first as a pro.
He has appeared in one NHL game late last season against the Los Angeles Kings.
The Washington, Mich., native was selected by the Vancouver Canucks 75th overall in 2023, but was acquired by Calgary in the January 2024 deal that sent centre Elias Lindholm to the Canucks.
