Jayden Reed injury: What status means for Week 14 vs. Bears

The 8-3-1 Green Bay Packers host the 9-3 Chicago Bears as 6.5-point favorites on Sunday. As you can tell by their records, this is a big game for both teams. The Bears will be short their top wide receiver, Rome Odunze, who is dealing with a stress fracture, while the Packers hope to get wide receiver Jayden Reed back from his broken collarbone.

Reed returned to practice late last week before being ruled out, but he was able to practice all three days this week, though he was limited on each day. Reed is officially listed as questionable, but on Saturday he was elevated from I.R. to the 53-man roster. Something weird would need to happen for him not to play this weekend.

Fantasy football analysis

Reed has never been a full time player, but his ability helps his fantasy scoring efficiency. We can’t really expect much from him this week, as the team is flush with receivers, especially if Matthew Golden (questionable) plays. Reed’s presence likely knocks down Dontayvion Wicks’ usage the most, as they both work out of the slot.

Unfortunately, this is the way of the Packers receivers. There are multiple receivers to spread the ball around to, while the Packers are a run first team. Consistency is not the way of the Packers fantasy receivers and with them getting healthy, consistency isn’t going to get better.
