Khalil Shakir start or sit: Week 17 fantasy football advice
Week 17 of the 2025 NFL season will continue on this afternoon with a battle of playoff-bound contenders as the Philadelphia Eagles visit the Buffalo Bills at 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX.
The Bills were able to clinch a playoff spot by holding off the Browns in a 23-20 victory last Sunday and can still keep their AFC title hopes alive with a win or a Patriots loss today. We’ll find out if leading wideout Khalil Shakir can play a big role in penultimate regular season game at Highmark Stadium this afternoon.
Below, we’ll go over Shakir’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 17.
Fantasy Football analysis: Bills WR Khalil Shakir
Shakir caught four of five targets for 34 receiving yards in last Sunday’s victory over the Browns, which was actually a team-high in receiving. Yeah, the Bills got most of their work done on the ground and that’s been the case in a lot of their games this season as wideout targets like Shakir have been decent as best options on the fantasy front.
The fourth-year veteran has been in low-Flex territory throughout the season and enters Week 17 ranked as the No. 32 fantasy wideout in PPR leagues. Something to note is that is currently ranked fourth in the NFL in yards after catch, so he has been able to make the most out of his receptions and that has benefitted fantasy managers from time to time throughout the year.
Start or sit in Week 17?
Sit. You want to maximize your lineup as much as possible with this being championship weekend in most leagues and unfortunately, a middling option like Shakir isn’t going to cut. Especially against an Eagles secondary that has prevented opposing WR’s from going off throughout the year.
