Magic’s Desmond Bane fined $35K for throwing ball at Knicks’ OG Anunoby
Desmond Bane‘s wallet is taking a hit after one of the more bizarre technical fouls seen in the NBA this season.
The Orlando Magic guard has been fined $35,000 for throwing a ball with force at New York Knicks forward OG Anunoby in an unsportsmanlike manner during a game on Sunday, the league announced Monday.
The incident occurred midway through the fourth quarter of the Magic’s 106-100 loss in New York.
As Anunoby went for a layup on the fastbreak, Magic guard Jalen Suggs went in for a block and the two got tangled on the play, falling to the floor. As the ball was going out of play, Bane caught it and slung it hard at Anunoby, hoping to draw the out-of-bounds call on New York.
The two players confronted each other after the play, with Anunoby shoving Bane, and an official separated them.
While the call was initially deemed out of bounds on Anunoby, the play was reviewed and Bane was assessed a technical foul.
