Scottie Scheffler went full Scottie Scheffler on Sunday at Pebble Beach.

The world number one posted a 63 to put him at 20-under on the tournament. As he walked off of 18 at Pebble, arguably the most beautiful finishing hole in all of golf, he did so tied for the tournament lead, although given that there were so many players left on course it figured to not stand for long. You never know at the time of this writing.

There was something particularly notable about that walk off of 18, though. Scottie recorded an eagle at 18 to get him to 20-under and what was even more notable about it was that it was his third eagle of the day.

Scheffler found the big bird on 2, 6, and 18 while out at Pebble on Sunday. Dropping eagles on 3 of the 4 par 5s is a great way to give yourself a puncher’s chance.

What was remarkable about this for Scottie is that, as Jim Nantz noted on the CBS broadcast, it was the first time in his PGA Tour career that he recorded 3 eagles in a round.

Pretty good time for it to happen!
