The 49ers cut offensive lineman Zach Thomas on Friday, the team announced.
Thomas signed a futures contract with the team on Jan. 21.
The Bears made Thomas a sixth-round pick in 2022. He has also spent time with the Bears (2022), Rams (2022-24), Patriots (2024), Texans (2024-25) and Colts (2025).
In 2025, Thomas signed with the Texans’ practice squad on Dec. 16 but was waived on Dec. 30.
He has appeared in 17 regular-season games, with no starts, including 14 in 2024. Thomas has played 137 offensive snaps and 58 on special teams in his career.
