Islam Makhachev and Ian Garry have both made weight ahead of their much-anticipated welterweight title clash on Saturday night.
Makhachev seeks his first 170lbs title defence at the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia after dethroning Jack Della Maddalena last November.
Victory will not only further cement his place as the pound-for-pound best fighter in the sport; it will also see him surpass Anderson Silva for the longest winning streak in UFC history (16).
Makhachev has lost just two rounds under the UFC banner and opens up as a moderate favourite with the bookies.
Yet many believe Garry’s combination of size, technical striking and excellent fight IQ could pose problems for the dominant Russian champion.
While both men weighed in at an identical 170lbs, Garry looked to be the bigger man on the scales and is expected to rehydrate at around 190lbs.
Makhachev did appear to have grown further into the weight class, however, with his muscles looking visibly fuller than they did last year.
Back-up fighter Michael Moraes also tipped the scales at 170lbs and will be on standby in case either of the headliners pull out.
In the co-main event, UFC strawweight queen Mackenzie Dern and title challenger Gillian Robertson both made 115lbs championship weight without issue.
And thankfully for Dana White and Co., all 24 fighters were on weight.
There was a close call when the last UFC athlete to weigh in, welterweight Chidi Njokuani, initially came in at 172lbs.
The American then brought over the box, but still missed weight by 0.5lbs.
Visibly frustrated, Njokuani disappeared for five minutes before returning to make 171lbs.
His opponent, Joel Alvarez, was one of the first to weigh in, making 171lbs on his first attempt.

UFC Schedule

There are still several blockbuster shows and exciting contests for fight fans to look forward to in 2026, and you can find the full list of all confirmed events and official bouts as part of talkSPORT.com’s UFC schedule.
The UFC, on average, puts on 13 to 14 premium events in a calendar year, with up to 30 smaller ‘Fight Night’ cards allowing prospects and less experienced fighters to showcase their talents.
On January 1, 2026, Dana White’s promotion signed a seven-year broadcast deal with CBS and Paramount+ for exclusive rights in the US, meaning the UFC has put on shows like never before this year.
With the historic first event in the new Paramount era, UFC 324, delivering huge success, and a one-of-a-kind fight card at the White House in June opening up the UFC to a new audience, the promotion remains a premium global sports brand, and fans are eager to keep track of results and upcoming fights.
