Cameron Menzies was rushed off the stage in concerning scenes during his World Matchplay Darts clash on Wednesday night.
The Scottish star was taking on Ross Smith, who was suddenly forced to help out his opponent as he struggled at the oche.
During the third leg of the second round game, Menzies paused before his shot, walking away and looking to be unwell.
Smith then walked over to him as he worryingly stumbled backwards and went down onto his haunches.
The Sky Sports broadcast cut away from the scenes as Menzies walked away and the match was halted.
Host Emma Paton then revealed that Menzies would not be returning to the stage to complete the game with Smith.
That came after she explained: “We are having a break in our first match because Cameron Menzies is unwell.
“All we know at the moment is that he is being seen to by St John’s Ambulance. He is with some medics at the moment.
“Hopefully he is okay and feeling better very shortly.”
It was soon officially announced to fans that, due to medical advice, Menzies would not be coming back out in Blackpool and Smith was given a bye through to the quarter-finals.
What happened to Menzies?
Menzies was later said to be conscious and sat up talking to his partner, with medics assessing his condition.
And an official PDC statement then revealed: “Cameron Menzies was taken ill during his round two match against Ross Smith at the Betfred World Matchplay on Wednesday evening.

“Cameron experienced high blood pressure, which caused him to feel dizzy and subsequently faint.
“Following an assessment by the on-site medical team, Cameron was deemed well enough to return to his accommodation.
“We wish Cameron all the best and look forward to seeing him back in action soon.”
Menzies was taking on Smith after one of the biggest wins of his career earlier this week on Monday evening.
The 37-year-old knocked 2024 champion Luke Humphries out of the World Matchplay with an impressive 10-7 win.

After Menzies clearly looked ill as he departed the stage in the worrying moment, fans took to social media.

One fan said: “Doesn’t look good for Menzies there hope he’s alright.”
“Oh noo, hope everything is okay with Menzies,” a second posted.
Meanwhile, a third fan wrote: “Hope Cam Menzies is ok, that looked a bit disturbing him going off stage.”
A fourth darts fanatic said: “Gutted for Menzies, biggest win of his life the other day and now having to withdraw due to illness.”
And pointing out the kindness shown by Smith on stage, another posted: “Respect to Smith for helping Menzies.”
Thankfully, it does seem that Menzies is okay. He has returned to his hotel after being seen by medics.
