The Dolphins signed veteran free agent Clelin Ferrell on Monday, the team announced.
They waived defensive lineman Kahlil Saunders in a corresponding move.
Ferrell, 29, has remained a free agent since March.
The Raiders made Ferrell the fourth overall pick in 2019 after a star-studded career at Clemson. He lasted four seasons with the Raiders and played for the 49ers in 2023 and the Commanders in 2024.
In 2025, the defensive end played eight games for the 49ers and one for the Chargers.
Ferrell has appeared in 98 career games with 57 starts in seven seasons. He has totaled 181 tackles, 21 sacks, 12 passes defensed, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
Saunders signed with Miami as an undrafted college free agent on May 8. He played collegiately at Kentucky, where he appeared in 51 career games with 12 starts in five seasons.
