Galatasaray have made an initial enquiry to Arsenal over the potential signing of Gabriel Martinelli, talkSPORT understands.
The two clubs discussed a price for the winger if a deal were to be done this summer.
Martinelli has been identified as a potential target by the Turkish giants after their talks to sign AC Milan’s Rafael Leao failed to provide a breakthrough in the deal.
However, any agreement for Martinelli would be reliant on Arsenal signing a replacement.
The Gunners will only sanction an exit if they can sign a left winger of their own.
Several targets have already been identified by the Premier League champions.
Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz, Julian Alvarez of Atletico Madrid, Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye and Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi have all been monitored this summer.
Martinelli’s future
Martinelli is into the final year of his current Arsenal deal, which expires next summer.
The north London outfit do have the option to extend his contract by a further year, though.
It comes after he signed an extension back in February 2023, four years after joining the club.
Since his arrival from Brazilian club Ituano in 2019, Martinelli has scored 62 goals in 278 appearances across all competitions.
The Brazil international has also provided a further 36 assists in that time.

As well as winning the Premier League in May, Martinelli has lifted both the FA Cup and Community Shield with Arsenal.
Martinelli featured off the bench in his side’s last two friendly outings against Real Betis and Borussia Dortmund.
Galatasaray are not the first club to show interest in the 25-year-old this summer.
talkSPORT previously revealed in June that clubs in Saudi Arabia were also keen on a move for Martinelli.
Their interest came prior to Leandro Trossard’s departure to Besiktas.
As for incomings, Arsenal have since replaced Trossard with Greece international Christos Tzolis.

The 24-year-old has joined from Club Brugge on a five-year deal.
Bruno Guimaraes’ arrival from Newcastle for £75million was confirmed on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Piero Hincapie has seen his loan from Bayer Leverkusen made permanent ahead of the new season.
