Injured Raptor RJ Barrett making progress, to be re-evaluated in one week
The Toronto Raptors will have to find their footing without RJ Barrett.
Barrett is out at least one more week with a right knee sprain, the team said on Monday.
He received a platelet-rich plasma injection and is continuing to progress, the team said.
The Raptors have struggled since Barrett went down during a Nov. 23 game against the Brooklyn Nets, losing five of eight.
Barrett, of Mississauga, Ont., was enjoying a strong start to his season before being sidelined with averages of 19.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 30.9 minutes in 17 games.
He scored at least 20 points 10 times while firing at a 35.6 per cent rate from beyond the arc.
The Raptors return to the court Tuesday for their NBA Cup quarterfinal at home against the New York Knicks (Sportsnet, Sportsnet+, 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT).
