Atlanta Drive GC could not go undefeated on the night.

TGL kicked off a double edition of a double-header on Monday night (they will have another on Tuesday) and Atlanta defeated Boston Common Golf in their first stroll through the digital realm.

Los Angeles Golf Club would have none of that, though. They held control for most of the night and punctuated the win on the 14th hole before TGL unveiled a new hole in Caverns.

Here is how each team stacked up for the match (Los Angeles Golf Club, Atlanta Drive GC):

TRIPLES

  • Hole 1 (Cut The Sails): Los Angeles started the night off with a win
  • Hole 2 (Bonnie Link): Another LA win
  • Hole 3 (The Last Toll): Make that three in a row!
  • Hole 4 (Showtime): Tie
  • Hole 5 (Craic On): Tie
  • Hole 6 (Loot On The Line): Los Angeles picked up a 4-0 lead
  • Hole 7 (Cenote): At long last Atlanta was on the board
  • Hole 8 (Bluebonnet): Los Angeles re-took a 4-point lead here
  • Hole 9 (Fore-0-Fore): Atlanta won to close out the triples portion of the evening

SINGLES

  • Hole 10 (The Spear): Billy Horschel had an inside track after an early penalty from Justin Rose, but the Englishman was able to squeeze out a tie
  • Hole 11 (Straight Up): Patrick Cantlay appeared on the verge of winning this, but Tommy Fleetwood chipped in for yet another important LA draw
  • Hole 12 (Set In Stone): Atlanta threw the Hammer and after a lengthy debate it was declined to narrow the match
  • Hole 13 (Stinger): Atlanta threw a Hammer as a point of desperation, but Justin Rose salvaged a tie which made matters difficult for the defending champions
  • Hole 14 (Cliffhanger): After an impressive tee shot from Tommy Fleetwood, LA threw the Hammer and Atlanta was forced to accept it… LA won and clinched the match
  • Hole 15 (Caverns): Collin Morikawa and Lucas Glover drew

FINAL: LOS ANGELES GOLF CLUB WINS 7-3

The win put Los Angeles in second place in the TGL season standings. They trail only Atlanta for what it’s worth while Boston sits behind them both in third.

As noted Caverns was unveiled as one of TGL’s newest creations and innovations and it was a ton of fun. It was advertised as existing underneath Cenote… the TGL lore is living large now.

Bring on more TGL. Tuesday night will indeed.
