UFC star Conor McGregor has broken his alcohol sobriety in support of Hollywood actor Brad Pitt.
After staying sober for months, Conor McGregor is finally back to drinking alcohol. Amid his five-year-long absence and injury recovery, McGregor left drinking alcohol just a few months before his UFC 329 comeback against Max Holloway.
However, with the fight now over and McGregor also done with his knee surgery, “The Notorious One” is now drinking again. The former UFC two-division champion revealed that he has decided to drink again after learning that Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt recently ended his seven-year period of sobriety.
McGregor had previously committed to staying away from alcohol and other stimulants in preparation for his comeback match. However, the fight ended only 69 seconds after McGregor sustained a severe knee injury.
“I have decided to have a few pints of The Worlds Creamiest Stout [Forged Stout] in support of my fellow actor, Brad Pitt! Take it easy, Brad! [red heart emoji] [Forged Stout] is a 4.2%alc, true sociable and friendly delicious beverage. Enjoy safely [Praying hands emoji],” McGregor wrote.
McGregor is now drinking again, although he has not officially commented on it becoming a habit again. Recently, Brad Pitt, in an interview with Esquire, opened up about resuming drinking again.
“No, I got—I was sober for seven years. And then I got back off the wagon. In a more restrained manner. I got overconfident a couple times, went, Yep, nope, not good for me. Not in big quantities,” Pitt said. “Yeah. Well . . . I can have a few. But I can’t have a lot. I have to be professional about it.”
