London Spirit (LDN) finally got their campaign up and running in The Hundred Men’s 2026 with an impressive seven-wicket win over MI London (MIL) at The Kia Oval. While South African youngster Lhuan-dre Pretorius stole the show with a breathtaking half-century, Dewald Brevis also grabbed plenty of attention after smashing a spectacular no-look six that quickly went viral on social media.
The audacious shot came during the chase and perfectly summed up the confidence with which Spirit’s batters approached the target. Fans were left stunned as Brevis effortlessly cleared the boundary without even watching the ball after making contact.
Dewald Brevis smashes outrageous no-look six
Brevis produced the moment of the match on the 68th ball of the second innings. Facing Olly Stone, the right-hander received a full delivery on his pads and timed it to perfection over deep midwicket. What made the shot even more remarkable was that Brevis kept his head down and barely looked at the ball after striking it cleanly from the middle of the bat.
The effortless six sailed deep into the crowd and immediately became one of the standout moments of this year’s tournament. Brevis remained unbeaten on 37 off just 18 deliveries, finishing the chase in style and ensuring London Spirit crossed the line with 11 balls to spare.

Lhuan-dre Pretorius powers London Spirit to first win
Chasing 165, London Spirit got off to a flying start thanks to Jonny Bairstow and Pretorius. The pair raced to 50 in only 18 balls, putting MI London under immediate pressure. Pretorius was the chief aggressor, hammering 64 off just 28 balls, including seven sixes, to record his maiden half-century in The Hundred. Although Trent Boult eventually dismissed him, the damage had already been done. Brevis then took charge alongside the middle order, playing an unbeaten cameo that featured the stunning no-look maximum and guided Spirit to 165/3.
Earlier, MI London posted 164/5, with Will Jacks top-scoring with 65 off 44 balls and becoming the leading run-scorer in the history of the men’s Hundred competition. Sherfane Rutherford added a quickfire 41 off 19, but Jamie Overton’s superb spell of 3/30 prevented the hosts from posting an even bigger total. With their first victory of the season secured, London Spirit climbed off the bottom of the standings and revived their hopes of progressing further in The Hundred Men’s 2026.
