WATCH: Finn Allen and Calvin Harrison pull off stunning relay catch to dismiss Jamie Smith as Southern Brave beat Trent Rockets in The Hundred Men’s 2026

Southern Brave (SOB) produced one of the standout fielding moments of their victory over Trent Rockets (TRT) in The Hundred Men’s 2026. Finn Allen and Calvin Harrison showed excellent awareness to complete a stunning relay catch and dismiss Jamie Smith during the second innings.

The dismissal came as Southern Brave chased 159 for victory, with Smith looking to keep the visitors on course after a steady start. What initially appeared to be a straightforward six turned into a spectacular piece of fielding near the boundary.

Finn Allen and Calvin Harrison complete stunning relay catch

The dismissal came off Craig Overton’s bowling when Smith picked up a delivery on his pads and struck it towards deep square leg. The ball appeared destined to clear the boundary, but Allen had other ideas. Positioned in the deep, Allen caught the ball before reaching the boundary but realised he could not complete the catch while staying inside the field. He immediately threw the ball upwards before going over the ropes.

Harrison was positioned perfectly at deep midwicket and reacted quickly to the relay. He managed to take the ball cleanly before it could land, completing an outstanding team effort. Smith departed for a brisk 26 off 18 deliveries, including three fours and a six. His dismissal came on the 29th ball of Southern Brave’s chase and gave the Rockets an early breakthrough.

Southern Brave end Trent Rockets’ winning run with six-wicket victory

Trent Rockets posted 158 for 5 after being asked to bat first at Trent Bridge. Several of their batters made useful contributions, but Mitch Santner and Lewis Gregory provided the crucial late acceleration. Santner remained unbeaten on 35 off 23 balls, while Gregory finished with 28 not out from 18 deliveries. The pair added 66 runs from just 39 balls for the sixth wicket to give the Rockets a competitive total.

Southern Brave began their chase positively, with Smith and Moeen Ali putting on 40 without loss from the first 25 balls. However, Harrison soon made an impact by removing Moeen before dismissing David Miller. Marcus Stoinis then changed the momentum, smashing two sixes and a four from his first three deliveries. He scored 46 off 25 balls and added 70 runs with Tristan Stubbs from just 41 deliveries.

Stubbs completed the chase in style, bringing up his half-century from 28 balls before finishing unbeaten on 52. Southern Brave reached 159 for 4 to secure a six-wicket victory and end Trent Rockets’ six-match winning streak.
