Sunrisers Leeds (SRL) pulled off one of the finest run chases of The Hundred Men’s 2026 as they defeated Manchester Super Giants (MSG) by eight wickets in a high-scoring derby clash at Headingley. Chasing a daunting target of 182, SRL rode on a breathtaking knock from Mitchell Marsh before Harry Brook and Zak Crawley finished the job in emphatic fashion. While the home side completed the chase with ease, one of the biggest talking points of the match was Sonny Baker’s sensational yorker that ended Marsh’s explosive innings.

Manchester Super Giants desperately searched for a breakthrough as Marsh continued to dominate their bowling attack. However, Baker finally provided the breakthrough with a sensational delivery that immediately grabbed the attention of fans. Bowling at around 92 mph, Baker produced a near-perfect yorker that tailed in sharply. Marsh attempted to clear the leg side once again, but the ball slipped underneath his bat before crashing into the stumps.

The dismissal came after Marsh had hammered 63 runs off just 26 deliveries, including six fours and five sixes, leaving the Headingley crowd on its feet with a standing ovation. The wicket arrived at the 58th ball of the innings, but by then Marsh had already put Sunrisers Leeds firmly in control of the chase.

Buttler remained unbeaten on 63, while Klaasen smashed 53, helping MSG finish with an imposing total. Nathan Ellis was the pick of the bowlers for Sunrisers Leeds, returning figures of 2/32.

The chase, however, belonged to the Sunrisers’ powerful top order. Marsh launched a brutal assault before Crawley took charge with an unbeaten 56. England star Brook then produced another spectacular finishing display, smashing 42 not out with a flurry of towering sixes to ensure there were no late hiccups.

Brook and Crawley added 50 runs in just 19 deliveries, dismantling the Manchester Super Giants bowling attack and completing the chase with 12 balls remaining. The victory handed Sunrisers Leeds their second consecutive win and further boosted their campaign in The Hundred Men’s 2026.
