Thomas Tuchel is taking charge of England at a major tournament for the first time this summer.
The German coach was appointed to lead the Three Lions’ 2026 World Cup campaign with the key aim of winning it.
Tuchel’s side won all eight of their World Cup qualifiers without conceding a goal and his impressive start in the role landed him a new deal earlier this year.
It came after he had been earmarked for the Manchester United job following Ruben Amorim’s sacking.
When does Tuchel’s contract expire?
Tuchel signed a new two-year contract extension with England in February.
His deal will now run until the end of Euro 2028, having previously been due to expire this summer.
The FA had initially appointed Tuchel for their 2026 World Cup campaign as Gareth Southgate’s successor.
Tuchel’s first England contract included a reported £5million-a-year salary, which is likely to have risen with his extension.
The 52-year-old was rewarded with a new deal after a faultless World Cup qualifying campaign.
Meanwhile, his only defeats in 19 matches in charge have been in friendlies against Senegal and Japan.
Tuchel will oversee the Three Lions’ Euro 2028 campaign, with England co-hosting the tournament in two years’ time.
They will be joined by the Republic of Ireland, Scotland and Wales in staging Euro 2028.
Although all four nations will take part in qualifying, two places at the finals have been reserved for hosts who fail to qualify on merit.
Tuchel will also take charge the upcoming Nations League campaign ahead of Euro 2028 qualifying next year.
On signing his deal, Tuchel said: “I am very happy and proud to extend my time with England.
“It is no secret to anyone that I have loved every minute so far of working with my players and coaches, and I cannot wait to lead them to the World Cup.
“It is an incredible opportunity and we are going to do our very best to make the country proud.”
Tuchel added: “I have had so much support from [FA chief executive] Mark [Bullingham], all my colleagues at the FA and from fans wherever I go that I did not hesitate when asked to continue in this dream job.
“Euro 2028 will be a very special tournament and as a coach there is nothing more you want than to compete with the very best on the biggest possible stage.”
