Football-starved fans are gearing up for a high-profile exhibition clash between two recent Super Bowl champions.
The Los Angeles Rams take on the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium for the first glimpse at how Andy Reid and Sean McVay’s rosters shape up for 2026.
This slate promises to be a marquee pre-season matchup between two early Super Bowl contenders.
Even more so given the fact that at one point, the teams were rivals.
When the Rams were playing in St. Louis, a rivalry between the two Missouri-bound franchises formed.
In preseason games, the Chiefs and Rams gave all their energy to secure the Governor’s Cup and bragging rights for their respective city in Missouri, which will have lost both teams by the time the Chiefs leave Arrowhead Stadium.
What time does the Rams-Chiefs pre-season game start and where can I watch?
The Rams vs. Chiefs preseason opener is set to take place on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
The game will start at 4 pm (EST), 3PM (CST) and 1pm (PST).
For fans who can’t make it to Arrowhead, NFL Network, which has recently been taken over by ESPN, will show the game for outside-market viewers.
In Los Angeles, fans can catch the game on KCBS (CBS Channel 2) for the local broadcast.
Fans in the KC area can watch the game locally on KSHB 41.

It will also be available for eligible out-of-market streaming via select ESPN tiers.
The Rams and the Chiefs are set to return to training camp next week, and their respective 2025 seasons couldn’t have been more opposite.
All eyes on Mahomes for Chiefs in 2026
The Chiefs finished the season 6-11, their worst record since 2012 and failed to reach the playoffs for the first time in the Patrick Mahomes era.
Mahomes tore his ACL and LCL in the Week 14 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Considered as one of the greatest passers of all time, he underwent surgery this offseason on the knee.

Adamant he can return for the Week 1 matchup against the Denver Broncos, exactly 100 days after surgery, he was seen dropping back and throwing at Kansas City’s facility.
He was also reportedly in the middle of the dance floor at Travis Kelce & Taylor Swift’s wedding.
A return for Week 1 of the season would be months ahead of the normal timeline of recovery.
The Chiefs welcome back Kelce, who opted to return for one more season, and Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III to their roster.
Rams could be unstoppable in 2026
As for the Rams, they made it to the NFC Championship round before being eliminated by the eventual Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks.
