Dwyane Wade has been paying close attention to the WNBA, and he made sure to share his favorites. The Hall of Famer and Chicago Sky minority owner appeared on a live taping of the “Post Moves” podcast in Chicago during All-Star Weekend, hosted by Candace Parker and Aliyah Boston. Asked which current players remind him of his own game, Wade did not hesitate on his first pick.
“I look at Jackie, and I like Jackie’s style, you know what I mean?” Wade said, referring to Las Vegas Aces guard Jackie Young. “She been in the weight room. She definitely gonna let you know what she been lifting.”

Young, an eighth-year veteran, is having a career year, averaging 16.4 points, 6.6 assists, and 4.6 rebounds while earning her fifth straight All-Star selection.
Wade’s next pick came with more personal weight behind it.
“Paige Bueckers is one of my favorite players. She has been for a very long time, and it’s outside of just the game,” Wade said. “I just look at the human, and I just love the way that she personally carries herself, and how the game, how it’s never about her, it’s always about others. And it’s about taking this moment that she has and uplifting.”
He rounded out his list with reigning MVP A’ja Wilson, focusing on her footwork in the post.
“I look at her footwork. When she gets that ball in that mid area, when she faces you up, her base is so incredible that she can do anything she wants to you,” Wade said. “That’s what I look at.”
Asked about his all-time favorite player, Wade quickly clarified he was not talking about Parker. “My favorite player is retired, so there’s so much I can do,” Wade said, before the hosts assumed he meant one of the show’s hosts. “No, I was talking about Sue. I was talking about Sue Bird.”
Wade has held a minority ownership stake in the Sky since 2021 and has remained a visible presence around the league as its popularity continues to grow.
