For most of the season it was almost a forgone conclusion that Shohei Ohtani was going to once again win the N.L. MVP. It wasn’t even like he was just being giving the award thanks to an uncompetitive field, he was earning it. But with an injury taking him off the mound for the rest of the year and an ascendant season from Pete Crow-Armstrong, it’s all of a sudden very much a race. Throw in Kyle Schwarber leading the league in home runs and Jacob Misiorowski dominating on the mound and the ballots this year will be interesting.
