Fireblocks has appointed Elad Roisman, a former U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission commissioner and acting chairman, as chief regulatory and policy officer and general counsel, regulatory. The digital asset infrastructure firm said the hire is aimed at guiding clients through an evolving regulatory landscape as institutional interest in stablecoins and tokenized assets grows.

Roisman served at the SEC from September 2018 through 2022, taking part in more than 100 rulemakings and over 1,000 enforcement actions. Before joining Fireblocks, he was a co-lead of the digital assets practice at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, and his earlier career included roles at the Senate Banking Committee and NYSE Euronext.

Fireblocks CEO Michael Shaulov said the appointment reflects what clients need now: support for scaling stablecoin operations and producing tokenized real-world assets in a regulatory environment that is changing quickly. He described the moment as one of unprecedented interest combined with innovative regulatory work aimed at advancing the sector.

The company says it has processed more than $14 trillion in digital asset transactions across over 150 blockchains. Its clients include Worldpay, BNY, Galaxy, and Revolut, and its infrastructure covers custody, stablecoin payments, tokenization, and compliance reporting. Roisman's background includes insight into U.S. stablecoin legislation and the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets framework.
