The Atlanta Falcons ended practice after pass-rusher Jalon Walker was carted off the field with a suspected torn ACL.
His injury, which happened during a two-minute drill at Tuesday’s training camp, drew an emotional reaction from teammates.
The entire Atlanta team took a knee while Walker was down, and before he was carted off, they all surrounded the young player and talked with him.
“Promising edge Jalon Walker is feared to have torn his ACL, a potential brutal injury for this defense,” NFL insider Ian Rapoport shared Tuesday.
“Walker will have an MRI to confirm the injury from practice today, which drew an emotional reaction from his team.”
Senior Falcons reporter Tori McElhaney provided further context in a post on X.
“Cart has come onto the field for Jalon Walker. Whole team on a knee,” she wrote.
“Falcons were going through two minute simulation and Walker was down in the backfield once the play was over. Falcons end practice as Walker gets carted off.”
Head coach Kevin Stefanski brought the team together briefly, before calling time on practice after the incident.
The edge rusher had taken his normal place on the left side of Atlanta’s defense during a full-team period, and fired upfield once the ball was snapped.
When the play concluded, and the next one was set to begin, Walker remained on the ground.
He was quickly attended to by trainers nearby and teammates gathered around him to take a knee.

Players clapped off the 22-year-old as he was taken back to the locker room.
Walker, the No. 15 overall pick in the 2025 draft, recorded 5.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery in his rookie season.
